El fotoperiodismo en Argentina reconstructs a decade in which photojournalism acquired an unprecedented prominence in the political and media history of this country. Ten years crossed by the incorporation of new reporters to the profession, the struggle for professional hierarchization and the emergence of media that promoted a 'militant' photography.
Gamarnik proposes to historicize the development of this profession, to study its singularities, to listen to the voice of the photographers and to think about the historical, cultural and political implications of their images. This book asks about the modes of production and the historical context of the photographs, about the paradigmatic images of different periods of Argentine history and about the views that were taken of them.
